The League
Every country renamed after a baseball contract, sorted into six verdicts, and assigned to one of the thirty franchises. Two maps: the world by tier, and every ballpark at its real coordinates. It started with one line on Reddit: the Saudi military is Dodgers payroll with Angels talent.
How the tiers work
Payroll against results
Dodgers pay like a contender and play like one. Rays outplay their payroll. Angels have payroll way ahead of results. Glory years are still paying for a great run from long ago. Rebuilds just opened the checkbook, results pending. Non-roster invitees got a spring training invite and no guaranteed money.
Every country is also affiliated with one of the thirty franchises, which get the same six verdicts applied to their own payrolls. The club map puts all thirty ballparks at their real coordinates and sizes each dot by how many countries report to it. Selecting a club outlines its affiliates back on the world map.
The contract names are real deals or real contract lingo. A few places in active conflict or crisis get a plain entry with no punchline, and no affiliation, on purpose.
