Duckboard
A direct remote for the Microduck: press a large button, the robot does the thing. Built so that stays true when conditions are bad, an undeliverable command says so, and an unsafe one is visibly unavailable.
The short version
Duckboard does not collect your personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Nothing you do in the app is sent to me or to any third party.
What the app does with your information
- Duckboard talks only to your robot, over your own network. There is no cloud service, no account and no relay.
- Held controls carry a deadman: when the app stops talking to the robot, the robot stops. Nothing about that exchange is recorded off-device.
- The Apple Watch companion sends commands through your iPhone to the robot on the same local network.
Permissions it asks for
- Local Network
- Duckboard uses this to reach the robot directly on your own network. Commands go to the robot and nowhere else.
If you decline a permission, the feature that needs it stops working. The rest of the app carries on.
What is stored, and where
Your robot connection details and button preferences, on the device only. Deleting the app removes it.
Children
Duckboard is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If the app ever starts handling data differently, this page changes before that version ships, and the effective date above changes with it.
