Duck Sounds

Seven buttons, each a performance: the noise and the movement together, at the robot's own fifty hertz. The voice is synthesised from the robot's serial number, so no two ducks sound alike.

The short version

Duck Sounds does not collect your personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Nothing you do in the app is sent to me or to any third party.

What the app does with your information

  • The voice is synthesised on your device from the robot's serial number. There are no sound files and no audio is uploaded.
  • Movement policies run on your phone. Commands travel to your robot over your own network and nowhere else.
  • Duck Sounds does not use the microphone.

Permissions it asks for

Local Network
Duck Sounds uses this to send movement commands to the robot on your own network. Sound is generated on your phone.

If you decline a permission, the feature that needs it stops working. The rest of the app carries on.

What is stored, and where

Your robot connection details, on the device only. Deleting the app removes it.

Children

Duck Sounds is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If the app ever starts handling data differently, this page changes before that version ships, and the effective date above changes with it.
